Excuse me, Shinobu. I hope this doesn't find you at a bad time.
FROM: kaneki.ken@cdc.org
We haven't found any of the missing recruits, but we have found something else of note. They appear to be fifty strange, metallic spheres. They look like marbles.
We don't know too much else yet, but I believe we are sending messages to Dagger and Mothership when we know more. We also thought to report to you and Kakashi as well.
Before this discovery, I can't say there was much of anything out of the normal we came across either.
But now that we have found them, it's just... There are a lot of off-color jokes. I've heard at least three. One is apparently getting texted to Dagger.
[Kaneki is too mild-mannered for this sort of thing.]
FROM: kaneki.ken@cdc.org
From what I've heard, yes, that's more likely. Hopefully she'll have an idea of what these are or what use they can be of.
FROM: kaneki.ken@cdc.org
No idea. They don't appear to be dangerous. Sasuke believes there are exactly fifty of them as well, if he's counted correctly. It seems like they have some purpose.
DAY 76, during the searching

No missing recruits over here either. It's actually been pretty boring. This is, like, pretty much the most excitement I've had so far.
[Which everyone on her team would agree is very, very sad.]
FROM: jacobs.shinobu@cdc.org
I'm guessing Mothership's gonna be the one that knows the most about it, so you'll likely have more luck picking her brain than Dagger's.
FROM: jacobs.shinobu@cdc.org
You've gotta wonder what the hell a bunch of tiny balls are doing lying around though.

Let me guess. Jack is messaging Dagger.
But I imagine this is gonna spread like wildfire, throughout the team. And maybe the entire crew.
FROM: jacobs.shinobu@cdc.org
Well, whoever has a marble collection at least keeps it in a nice, even number. I hope someone has an answer for this.
no subject
Good guess. Trip is, since he's scanning the spheres for information, but Loki and Jack are paying him to send the message.
I'll have to prepare myself for that, then.
FROM: kaneki.ken@cdc.org
I certainly hope one of the officers has something of an answer. If they are unaccounted for by the Neheda's leadership, it makes me nervous.
FROM: kaneki.ken@cdc.org
If anything else becomes pertinent, I will let you and Kakashi-san know. Good luck with the rest of your search.

Pfft, of course those two put him up to it. I'm not the least bit surprised. I'm sorry you got stuck with those guys, honestly.
FROM: jacobs.shinobu@cdc.org
If no one has an answer, then that'll be the most concerning thing of all, probably.
But cool. Thanks for the heads up.

They aren't so bad. Just a little bit more vulgar than I'm used to.
FROM: kaneki.ken@cdc.org
Agreed. But Mothership might also have a better idea of how to find out more about these things, if so.
Certainly. Speak to you again later.
