I kind of wondered myself how he knew about so much of this crap when he had trouble understanding basic things about humans.
[Regardless, Shinobu gets up pretty quickly when she hears the knock and after a few seconds of cautiously checking to see who it was outside, she opens the door for David. While she had been in the crew long enough to vaguely recognize him, Shinobu still glances at him in a more discerning matter as this is the first time they're having a direct conversation.]
