[ One message that precedes Gliese's announcement, and one that follows fast on its heels. There is a countdown in progress that he must also beat. Somewhere within the thirty minutes allotted by the Captain, he moves. His target is Shinobu's cuff. Detecting him is difficult; he wears no armor and no uniform. His presence speaks of battle-worn fluidity and lifetimes of practice in evasion.
She will find a flash of light invading her field of vision. A sharp gust of air passes, smelling of a storm. If she is quick, she'll witness a thin, flat expanse of glowing metal attaching itself to her cuff. It slips beneath its interface and causes its functions to waver with what appears to be static. A glitch, perhaps. It is a process which lasts seconds. Maybe less.
If she is quicker, she will find a human face looking over his shoulder at her. Only the dim electric glow of his eyes suggests otherwise. His lips quirk and he lifts a finger to them.
A blink will yield an imprint of light, and no one standing before her. ]
[After the previous run in with– something, Shinobu is more on edge when she comes across yet another person going at a speed she can barely comprehend. While she herself could move with fluidity and was insanely competent with the evasion thing, she had probably only been working at that for maybe half of her lifetime... which really wasn't a lot of experience in comparison.
She manages to catch a glimpse of the face, but it only leaves her more confused.
What the hell was even going on here?
Shinobu began to wonder if it was a good idea to put the cuff on, in the first place, but hell. She had already gone this far down, in the hole. Might as well see where it led to.]
